Nir is a strategy and communications advisor who, until recently, served as the Head of the IDF’s International Press Department, where he managed and oversaw all press relations between the Israeli military and the international media, including during the recent war, one of the most heavily covered conflicts in history. As part of his role, Nir engaged with senior journalists and editors from all well recognized and appreciated western media outlets and managed high profiled media crises on a near daily basis. Nir has managed a team of over 20 members and lead the process of strategic planning and strategic communications for the IDF. Before serving in the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, Nir served as a Company Commander and as Chief of Staff in the infantry special forces. Nir holds B.A degree in Economics and in National Security from Haifa University and holds M.A degree in Government and Political Marketing from Reichman University.
